90s Acardipane Again
Marc Acardipane is so in the zone here. I reckon he could have stayed there for another half an hour at least. I guess this is like an acid counterpart to the first tune.
Noisy gabber shit. An unhinged trip!
Maximal noise overload. An incredible concussive racket that goes fucking mental but somehow doesn't become a mess. It is a perfect cacophony till the end. How the hell does he do that? Acardipane at the peak of his powers. Surely one of the finest musical (?) moments from the 90s.
These 4 tunes are all by Marc Acardipane and are taken from the compilation PHUTURE released on PCP in 1994. When his day of recognition is coming I don't know but it's absurd that it hasn't. He was one of THE two or three great sonic technicians of the 90s.

2017 Gloom/Doom-Core
The atmosphere on these tracks is just so....now. Is World War III really going to be about a couple of drama queenz having a bitch fight in the sand pit about who's old, short or fat? Ye olde cartoons were smarter than that. Kim & Don are are the dim wit kids in grade one you felt sorry for. This here is the soundtrack for the schoolboy/world leader dust up which was made in 91/92 with a vision to 2017. I'm worried Marc Acardipane is some sort of Nostradamus type figure. I mean like Nostradamus (as in a psychically freaky fortune teller for the ages) and not just into him as Simon Reynolds mentioned at the beginning of the year on my blog. These aren't even Marc's most pulverising beats, It's all about the blackest gloomiest synths and sound generators. Some of these beats are almost quite fun. Music for the surviving cockroaches, ants and mutant sea creatures to joyfully bug out to while the ghost of humanity looms in the post-apocalyptic air.
*All of these tracks have been remastered and reissued in digital form in 2017. Frontal Sickness, Final Sickness and a compilation called Selected Classics have been part of Acardipane's reissue campaign by Planet Phuture. So far it's been all about The Mover and Mescalinum United, I wonder if any of his other aliases will be getting the remastered treatment?

2017 with Marc Acardipane
WE HAVE ARRIVED IN THE PHUTURE
These first two are on the same record from 1990!!!
From 1992 this is a one sided LP.
A classic from 96. A pretty ominous title right there and a rather fitting sound for now doncha' think?

The Horror The Gloom The Doom
Halloween isn't really a thing here in Australia, despite many attempts by consumerist architects to make it so. I hate it when it gets referred to as an American custom as it quite clearly emanated from Celtic tradition and probably has Pagan roots. Anyway it's a good excuse to get out some frightening and gloomy tunes. I could have posted a hundred or more of these doomcore/gloomcore gems but here's just a handful.
This one from Marc Acardipane is from 2002 but I only discovered yesterday. One World No Future came out after the 90s heyday of doomcore techno but it's damn fine. There's probably still a bunch of artists creating replicas of the genre and trying to keep the faith today, like there are still drum n bass people etc.
Frozen is an alias for Miro. I think Frozen only did the one EP, Soul Saver, from 1997 where both of these tracks come from. Miro had a bunch of other pseudonyms Stickhead, Reign, Jack Lucifer, Evidence, Hypnotizer and the list goes on. He made many fine records and continues to this day doing minimal, sometimes quite dark, techno under his name Miro Pajic.
This is another 90s bewdy from Miro Pajic under the alias Evidence. This was on his 1999 compilation Hardcore Made In Frankfurt, probably released a few years earlier on 12".

PCP Sub-Labels Mix
Here's a mix I only just discovered on the youtubes. I've road tested it and it goes well on me bike. DJ Djero's got a whole other bunch of mixes that look like they're worthy of checkin out as well. This one features Dr Macabre, Rave Creator, Pilldriver etc. Stuff from Power Plant, Cold Rush, Kotzaak Unltd. etc.

Marc Acardipane On Me Bike
These tunes came up on my Fuck Yeah! Mix on the i-pod whilst cycling today. These tracks really get your legs moving. Is it illegal to ride with your i-pod in your earballs? It does feel unsafe. I was definitely riding into the future and possibly could have ridden front on into a truck and wouldn't have cared. These are still incredible soundz.

Crunk Gabba & What (ever else)
DJ Snake & Lil Jon - Turn Down For What (via Energy Flash). I always like it when any kind of rave, hardcore or electronic vibe turns up in rap. Do these people even acknowledge Gabba, PCP, Cold Rush, Belgium etc. I know years back Timbaland being very cagey about his influences. Many people at the time were thinking it had to be comin from jungle, drum n bass etc. IE the UK. I don't think he ever owned up to it though. It's like Americans can't stand having to acknowledge anything European influenced. Like it's un-American or in some way or weakens their art. Funny considering Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock sampled Krafwerk in the very early days of hip hop (1982). DJ Snake is French though, I think, so he's kinda bringin the Euro vibe like Gesaffelstein did with Kanye last year.
Anyway I was thinking with one of the brands of Lean off the market now, (haven't done the research to see if there are still other brands still making it) what affect is that gonna have on the whole Ratchet/DJ Mustard scene. I guess the track above is one direction, kind of like a noise made for Meth-Heads. The pummel with surely appeal to people mixing alcohol & Meth & whatever else. Ecstasy and pot ain't goin nowhere though. Perhaps the downer euphoria will dwindle a little. Stay tuned.
