Where the ambient jungle becomes the drum and bass but it's still good. Wash Over Me was a played out in 94 tune but not released until 95. The beginning of where the beats don't so much smash but roll, still it is an Amen. Plenty of new age-y sounds with a great flute bit in there.
Nice track! I've been listening to ambient jungle lately, it seems to be making a come back i.e., compilation mixes posted on YouTube. Curiously, there seems to be a sub-genre called "PS1 ambient jungle", which is derived from OSTs for those games. I admit to being ignorant of the style during it's heyday due to being more into guitar oriented music, but I'm really starting to appreciate those soothing pads, deep bass and complex, chopped beats.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about playstation but there was a jungle/dnb radio station in some of the Grand Theft Autos so entire new generations of unlikely people were exposed to this music.
